Special Events Team Manager

Birthday parties are a favorite at the NY Kids Club! With a wide range of birthday party themes, there’s something for every child! Our ideal candidate for the Special Events Team will be full of enthusiasm and will work well with a team, as well as having a love of working with children!

A Special Events Team Manager is placed to lead events at one location (or more with ramping locations). The SETM manages the location’s team of . The SETM reports directly to the Team Manager. An SETM has staffing priority above SET Principals companywide.



  • Act as point person for Birthday Parties, Pajama Parties, Family Fun Events, Weekend Camp, Open Plays and Specialty Events and Parties. Must confidently lead aspects of all of these events as well as creating a positive experience for all clients.
  • Remain available for work 3:00 pm Friday until 6:30pm Sunday unless 2 weeks Time Off Request is approved by the direct supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate sub availability at all times and lead the Events Team to do the same.
  • Communicate to TM and LM on a weekly basis regarding all updates and notes from weekend.
  • Manage the location’s team of SET Principals’ ongoing awareness and adherence  to up to date policies, procedures and practices.
  • Conduct a SET Huddle (Saturday AM or start of parties)
  • Develop leadership and star performers among the events team, providing ongoing feedback and corrective action as needed (in conjunction with the Team Manager).
  • Nominate strong SET members for leadership training and company growth.
  • Convey/clarify information weekly to your SET Principal’s according to the Morning Meeting Notes, Week Ahead, Event Staffing email and other pertinent information.
  • Meet with the location’s Team Manager on a weekly basis to discuss and secure projected weekend staffing (weekend classes and/or Special Events), facility organization, and weekday-weekend transitions.
  • Check and communicate stock of inventory to ALM.
  • Maintain the appearance of the location.
  • Provide premium adult communication.
  • Attend SETM meetings as requested
  • Attend mandatory Special Events Team meetings/trainings.
  • May be scheduled to work outside events (to be scheduled on a weekly basis).
  • The SETM will be compensated an additional hour beyond the event schedule to participate in the weekly management meeting (30 min) and general event organization and communication (30 min). This is to be entered on the schedule and confirmed by the Team Manager.



  • Successfully complete at least one full semester as an SET Principal with strong performance, merit and team contribution
  • Successfully complete SET Leader Training
